Junior Engineer Program

Every great journey begins with that first step! This first level introduces both the robotics and coding aspects of the curriculum, while building up our essential core skills: spatial awareness, critical thinking, problem-solving, independence, etc.

Course Highlights:

Introduction to Robotics and Coding: Students will explore the basics of robotics and programming through engaging hands-on activities.

Core Skill Development: As they learn, participants will build critical skills in spatial awareness, critical thinking, problem-solving, and independence—essential traits for future engineers!

FAQ

Q: How do the kids build robots?
A: Each student will build their own robot by following easy-to-understand picture-based instructions. Two students will share one robotics kit. Our experienced RoboThink instructors will be available to provide guidance and support, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable learning experience for the students.

Q: How do the kids create coding projects?
A: Using picture-based instructions, students will work with tablets or laptops, depending on the project, to create and explore their own coding projects. RoboThink instructors will be actively involved throughout the process, offering support and encouragement to help students succeed while having fun.

Q: What is the minimum age to participate in the program?
A: The recommended age for participating in RoboThink programs is 6-12 years old. While we occasionally offer workshops and events for preK students, most of our general programs are designed for children aged 6 and up.

Q: What if my child misses a class? Can they make it up?
A: If a student misses a class, they can make it up by attending a class of the same value at a different time or by joining the same class during the next session. Please contact us by phone or email at least one day in advance to arrange a makeup session.

Q: Is there chance for kids to create robots on their own other than in class?
A: For students who want additional time to practice their creativity and engineering skills, they can attend Open RoboLab sessions. During these sessions, students can choose what they want to build or design their own creations.

Open RoboLab is available to students who have already participated in RoboThink classes and are familiar with the kits. Parents are also welcome to join and create alongside their children. This is a great opportunity for parents to see how their kids build robots and create lasting memories together.

Q: Are instructors available during Open RoboLab?
A: During Open RoboLab, there are no formal lessons, but a supervisor will be present to ensure safe building practices. Basic guidance and assistance will be provided as needed.
