Smart Builders
Smart Builders
Ages 7–12 · Build, code, and problem-solve with hands-on robotics engineering!
🤖 About the Program
Smart Builders is a hands-on robotics program where kids ages 7 to 12 build their own robot, matched to their skill level, while developing engineering, coding, STEM, and creative problem-solving skills.
Along the way, they explore real engineering concepts — motors, gears, sensors, and circuits — while building spatial reasoning, problem-solving, and computational thinking. As they progress, coding may be introduced to help program and control their robot. Whether it's their first robotics class or they're returning for a new challenge, every session is designed to push their skills further.
🌈 What They'll Learn
- Motors, gears, sensors, and real robotics engineering fundamentals
- Introductory coding and programming logic
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and the engineering design process
- Teamwork, communication, and healthy competition
- How to test, troubleshoot, and improve their own builds
🎨 Activities Include
- Building and programming motorized robots
- Coding challenges using picture-based and block-based instructions
- Competing in team-based engineering challenges
- Playing hands-on strategy and problem-solving games
