Winter Holiday Drop-In Workshop
Winter Holiday Workshop: Year-End Builders Week
A great
chance for kids to explore RoboThink’s wide range of building themes — from
simple beginner-friendly robot builds to more advanced engineering and coding
projects.

Monday, Dec 29 – Demolition Bot Builders
We’ll start the week with a construction-themed build day. Kids get to make their own machines — things like tower cranes or 3-wheel dump trucks — and try them out in fun demolition-and-rebuild challenges.
Tuesday,
Dec 30 – STEAM Lab
This day is all about creativity and design. Students work on projects that
blend art with robotics, such as a Banksy-style frame or
a robotic spirograph, and explore different ways movement can
create patterns and artwork.
Wednesday,
Dec 31 – RoboPets Adventure
Always a hit! Kids create their own moving robot pets — maybe a crawling
puppy, a ghost crab, or something completely their own — while
learning how simple mechanisms bring their creatures to life.
Friday,
Jan 2 – STEM Coding & Robotics
We’ll close the week with a beginner-friendly coding session using our
RoboThink app, RoComi. Students build programmable models like
a Cell Pusher or Cube Dropper, then bring them to
life through their own code.
Workshop Description
Our Winter Holiday workshop is designed to keep kids engaged, creative, and curious during break. Every day offers something a little different — building, designing, coding, and robotics — so students can explore new ideas without feeling pressured or rushed.
They can
follow our guided builds, add their own twist, or create something entirely
from scratch. It’s a relaxed, fun way to wrap up the year while building
confidence in STEM.
No experience needed — our STEM coaching crew works closely with each student, helps them customize their designs, and encourages them to create something that really reflects their own ideas.

FAQ
Q: How do the kids build robots?
A: Each student will build their own robot by following easy-to-understand picture-based instructions. Two students will share one robotics kit. Our experienced RoboThink instructors will be available to provide guidance and support, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable learning experience for the students.
Q: How do the kids create coding projects?
A: Using picture-based instructions, students will work with tablets or laptops, depending on the project, to create and explore their own coding projects. RoboThink instructors will be actively involved throughout the process, offering support and encouragement to help students succeed while having fun.
Q: What is the minimum age to participate in the program?
A: The recommended age for participating in RoboThink programs is 6-12 years old. While we occasionally offer workshops and events for preK students, most of our general programs are designed for children aged 6 and up.
